The BC30R Pack seeks to capture the tone of an early-2000s Black Cat 30 Reverb from the Mark Sampson era of Bad Cat. It's a 30-watt head running four EL84s, and the two channels use different preamp tubes, so it plays like two amps in one box.
Channel 1 runs a 12AX7 through a classic Bass and Treble stack. It's the tighter, brighter side, with glassy, chimey cleans that tip into edge-of-breakup grit as you dig in. Channel 2 swaps in an EF86 pentode, and its Tone knob selects between tone caps instead of a standard EQ. The result is a thicker low-mid push and more harmonic bloom, taking you from rich, dirty rhythm to a singing lead without turning to mush.
Each channel comes with a clean setting and four overdrive levels, plus direct versions for pairing with your own cabs. Three TJ3 IRs are included to get you started. Play softly and it cleans up and chimes; dig in and it growls.
