The Stu G Studio Pack is designed for anyone doing studio work for demos, recording projects, film & tv or even just youtube. HW and Stu G sought to capture everything StuG is using in his studio for various projects including 5 studio amps with various cabs and a plethora of Stu’s Kemper effects.

The Prime Minister - Seeking to capture the sound of the WEM Westminster 15, this lesser known amp features a “british” sound somewhere in the VOX/Marshall/Orange family. Profiles labeled “T” utilize a built in treble boost or bright switch which puts this amp in a slightly more chimer territory. Running thru an old G12 65, the Prime Minister is an instant favorite and a perfect choice for tight cleans, slight drive and pushed amp tones.

The Chime Lord - Seeking to capture the tone of a Hand Wired AC15, the Chime Lord chimes but in a mix friendly eq. Stu tends to favor brighter guitars so while the Chime Lord will chime with the best of them, prepare for some of the richest AC midrange you have heard, perfect for rhythm guitars and adding fullness to a mix while maintaining that signature chime. The EF86 or “N” profiles are especially addicting and perform nicely with Stu’s modification of a 20 watt greenback.

Frenchman - Available in two flavors “lil” and “BIG” and seeking to capture the sound of a Seller lil Giant, this tiny little amp proved to have much more than meets the eye. With it’s built in 8 inch speaker Stu had discovered an extremely musical AM radio type sound without the cliche. It’s a uniquely small sound that has proven invaluable in the studio for rhythm and dynamic guitar parts layered onto tracks. Pop and Alt producers will immediately recognize it’s usefulness. We then wondered if the “lil” Giant could benefit from a larger cabinet so we pushed it thru a 4x10 Bassman style cab with ceramic Webers and instantly stumbled onto something that reminded us of a small tweed amp in a big cab but still with a unique tone. The “Big Frenchman” profiles will serve as a great tweed alternative.

Orangeman - Available in two flavors and seeking to capture the sound of an AD15, this “lil” amp featured an unusual speaker choice of an American 10 inch alnico. This actually made for a nice cleans and edge overdriven british rock sounds but with more high mid punch and clarity reminiscent of a more American tweed amp. Placing the larger 12 inch Creamback cabinet in this amp then yielded a much more familiar Orangey British Rock sound in an EL84 format with all the fixings….tight lows, full mids and rolled off highs. This is an incredible choice for rock tones without the bloated bottom end.

73 JMP - Probably the opposite of the smaller studio amp theme but a true tone monster none the less. There is a magic to a Marshall thru a 4x12 with a cranked head on top and this metal panel 50 watt shows that. With a deeper bottom end than the rest of the back the 73 JMP stands out as a great amp for leads as well as full on 70’s rock. The Brighter input produces beautiful cleans and you will notice a mix ready eq great for dropping in a track. Pull out your LPs.

In addition to the 5 amps profiled we have included 5 Kemper cabinets including the 4x10 Bassman style cab found in the “Big Frenchman”. The oversized 1x12 Creamback found in the “Big Orangeman”, a cab from Stu’s 62 AC30 with 62 Blues and 2 of HW’s favorite 4x12s from 1969 and 1970 featuring two flavors of Greenbacks (G12m25 and G12h30).

Stu has also created 3 performances of all the tones used in the demo track he produced to showcase the tones form his pack.

Key:
T - Treble boost (Prime Minister)
N - Normal Channel (EF86 of Chime Lord/ Channel 2 input of 73 JMP)
B - Bright Channel (Bright switch of Chime Lord / Channel 1 input of 73 JMP)
Kilt - Stu G’s signature JHS Kilt pedal
Roose - 3P Roosevelt Overdrive
J - Jumpered input of 73 JMP
Hung Parliament - Prime minister on 10 pushed with a Prism boost

*The Stu G Studio pack has been created for “in the mix use” in mind so the out of the box EQs are a bit more mid focused than some of our other packs. If you want more brightness for jamming at home alone, raise the definition control to taste and chosen guitar.
