65 Prince Helix/HX Pack with Tone Matched IRs
The 65 Prince Helix/HX Pack features 2 Helix presets, 2 HX Stomp Presets (+2 with extra FX) and 2 Tone Matched IRs and seek to capture the sound of my 1965 Fender Princeton Amp with 10 inch oxford speaker. Inside you will find presets for two different voicing of this amp. “65 Prince” is truly meant to sound like my 65 Princeton and an additional “65 Princeton BRT” meant to give us a tone which is more similar to my 69 drip edge silver face Princeton. Amps form those Silverface years were brighter and almost sounded like you had turned on the bright switch, which Princetons don’t have. We modified the IR to accent the 5k range with a wider Q. Expect the “65 Prince” to be true to the fatter punchier tone that blackface fenders are known for and the “65 Prince BRT” is glassier and brighter. Both classic late 60’s early 70’s voicings.
Each Helix/HX preset is built out in snapshot mode allowing easy access, Clean, Overdriven, Rock, and Lead gain stages plus we have added some addition snapshots that feature effects or boosts that I felt complimented the amp. We are Princeton into overdrive with the Amp models gain but we are also using the KOT model for some overdrive and stacking some a 808 on top. Additionally we used one of my favorite drives in the Helix/HX… the Alpaca. I used to own a vintage Red Llama….Why did I sell that?…It’s one of the best fuzzes ever in my opinion because its lower setting s are Fuzzy OD tones that are truly unique and thats what we tried to dial in here. We also gave you a very “classic” snap shot for that beautiful Trem- Verb sound that Blackface amps are known for.
Includes:
2 Helix Presets
2 HX Stomp Presets (+2 presets with extra effects)
2 Tone Matched IRs
Notes:
You till notice and EQ block between the Amp block and the IR. This is meant to be an alternate amp voicing which wi felt worked well to compliment the amps natural character or to match to some of my different guitars. You will notice an EQ and La2a compressor placed after the the IR. These serve to make fine adjustments to the feel and high low shelving of the amp tone. While they are currently set to minimal adjustment, these are very useful for sculpting each preset to an individual. Check our Youtube channel for videos on this topic.
