Sometimes in the hunt for amps and cool gear, some truly special stuff just falls in your lap. On a recent trip to Guitar Center in Nashville to grab some XLR cables and I across this amp sitting in the corner, It was a 68 silver face drip edge twin with non original speakers, at least that’s what the tag said. When I looked inside I realized someone had put together a JBL 15 inch speaker from that same late 60’s era into this twin. Although this was the speaker used by Fender on Vibroverbs, Pro Amps, Dual Showman and Showman amps they didn’t make a 15inch twin until years later, but if they had…. this is the speaker that would have been in it. The GC apparently felt this eroded the value and sold me the amp for $1100! LOL Can you believe that!
